oops
Sorry we meant circumference of the Earth, not diameter!
Earth and moon distance
Relative distance between the Earth and Moon
Our goal is to place models of the Earth and Moon at the appropriate distance from one another
1. Find distance Earth and Moon and find diameter of Earth.
2. Place mark on Earth model
3. Use Earth model's circumference as a measurement and "roll" the model of the Earth 10 times from the model Moon.
4. Place model Earth at that spot.
We had no data besides the actual distances of the Earth from the Moon and the diameter of the Earth
Our only calculation was 250,000(distance of Earth and Moon) / 25,000 (diameter of Earth) = 10
10 rotations of the model Earth represents the distance between the model Earth and model Moon
1. Perhaps further study questions like how many moons fit in the Earth? or how much time would the Space Shuttle take to get to the Moon?
